Partnering to build equitable clean energy solutions across Wisconsin
As the United States ramps up to meet clean energy demands, we will need to revolutionize the way we power our communities. Reaching this goal in Wisconsin will require cutting-edge research and technology, entrepreneurship and investment, policy expertise, industry, and a vision for the future determined by the communities in which clean energy solutions will be built.
This is what the Clean Energy Community Initiative is all about. We are a growing network of clean energy partners led by the College of Engineering, Department of Life Sciences Communication, and the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Together, we’ll listen, discover, design, mobilize, and speed up Wisconsin’s transition to a strong clean energy economy.
OUR MISSION
Accelerate Wisconsin’s clean energy transition by discovering community values, needs, and priorities while building a multi-sector network in which industry, entrepreneurship, policy, research, and community converge, positioning our state to secure a comprehensive funding portfolio and become a growing, evolving clean energy ecosystem with long-term sustainability.
It starts with conversations and connections, exploring the unique and emerging energy problems, priorities, and needs of individual communities. Together, we can envision potential clean energy solutions.
