Nuclear energy has seen growing support over the last decade, due largely to its role as a low-carbon dispatchable source of electricity. The Clean Energy Community Initiative (CECI) is excited to host Professor Paul Wilson, Grainger Professor of Nuclear Engineering and Chair of the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Department of Nuclear Engineering & Engineering Physics.
Professor Wilson will examine the history of nuclear energy since the turn of the century, delve into the reasons for the current attention, and outline some of the technology developments that may be deployed in the next generation of nuclear technology.

About the speaker
Paul Wilson is the Grainger Professor of Nuclear Engineering and Chair of the University of Wisconsin-Madison‘s Department of Nuclear Engineering & Engineering Physics. His research centers on creating advanced computational tools to model complex nuclear energy systems, addressing applications in radiation shielding, waste management, non-proliferation, and energy policy.
