Tribal Nations across the Midwest are advancing clean energy initiatives that strengthen sovereignty and build local workforce capacity. This seminar will highlight how the Midwest Tribal Energy Resources Association (MTERA) supports this work through Tribal-led collaboration, workforce development, and community-centered engagement. Presenters will share strategies for empowering energy champions, navigating shifting funding and policy landscapes, and building partnerships that honor Tribal governance and long-term energy goals.

Director of Tribal Workforce Development, MTERA

Samantha leads regional workforce and leadership initiatives that support Tribal Energy Champions and strengthen Tribal capacity in renewable energy development. Her work focuses on building peer networks, partnerships, and training pathways that advance energy sovereignty and community-driven solutions.

Tribal Energy Program Manager, MTERA

David, an enrolled member of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians and the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska, supports Tribal Nations in advancing energy sovereignty through sustainable development and program support. With an environmental science background and ongoing graduate studies, he bridges cultural values with innovative energy solutions across Tribal communities.
